Weight loss plan for different body types

You have already joined a gym and you’re hard working and going to be slim in few months. But trust me; this is not going to be helpful. The reason is that every body is unique and the techniques used by many trainers are very common and almost same.
Your trainer may have clear concepts about the functioning of our body but he or she may not have knowledge about the importance of genetics.
Somatotyping is a system of separating the human physical types and basically there are three main categories-
- Ectomorphy or slim type
- Mesomorphy or muscular type
- Endomorphy or round type
The theory was developed by American psychologist William H. Sheldon to describe the construct of an individual. Each body responds differently to various dieting and training methods and it’s possible to alter body type by training techniques and particular diet. But before that, it’s incredibly important to know what your body type is.
Ectomorphic
A body type which is sometimes referred to as a ‘banana’ and the perfect example of an Ectomorph is a fashion model.

Ectomorphs are lean, fragile, small shouldered, lightly muscled and usually have a flat chest, a high forehead, thin arms and legs. Ectomorphs are the people who can eat whatever they want and they never become fatty. Gaining and losing fat is lot quicker & easier than other people and Ectomorphs have a very low fat storage that’s why they are thin. These people may have a pencil neck.
It’s a fact that Ectomorphs are born with a super fast metabolism and Ectomorphs tend to prefer Ectomorphic partners.
EAT, EAT, EAT, EAT, EAT, EAT, & just Eat. This is something that you should love and never try to skip meals. Avoid junk foods. If want to grow your muscles like a bodybuilder then eat more than your capacity and whatever extra after that. Forget about extra fat because you are an Ectomorphic and you don’t need to worry about it. If you can gain fat very easily then you do have the natural power to lose the fat as early as you want. After all, you are an Ectomorphic.

Mesomorphs
One word for Mesomorphs- muscular
A body type which is referred to as ‘hourglass’ for a female and a ‘rectangle’ for man.

This is the ideal body structure and most top bodybuilders are Mesomorphs. Mesomorphs are born athletes and they are more successful in strength and power sports. The Mesomorphs usually have large bones, well defined muscles, hard body, and Thick skin. Mesomorphs can very easily gain muscles and can gain fat more easily than Ectomorphs. The face is long & broad and legs and arms are developed. Actually, Mesomorphs sound perfect and they can eat almost anything. They don’t get fatty still they gain muscles.
But this body type also has some pitfalls. Mesomorphs can have weight on their hips and thighs; still it’s much better than Endomorphs.
Mesomorphs do need a little help and any training program and diet will work for these guys. A good combination of weight training and cardio works best for Mesomorphs.
A Mesomorph needs 1.5 or more grams of protein/per pound of your body weight. As your intention increases to increase muscles, you protein intake may increase as well. Six meals a day is well & good for a mesomorph. Include healthy fats from avocados, olive oil, nuts, linseed oil etc.
They should focus on cardio and resistant exercises. Cardio helps to keep weight in check and resistance exercises helps to keep balance between the upper and lower parts of body.
Some exercises that a Mesomorph should adopt:
- Swimming
- Stationary biking
- Shoulder presses
- Jumping jacks
- Jogging
If you are feeling proud as you are a meso, then don’t be over excited because a mesomorphic person also means poor flexibility. If you are a Mesomorphic as well as a careless guy, then it will not take large time to turn you in an Endomorph.

Endomorph

Endomorphs put on weight very easily and retain it for long periods of time. Endomorphs have soft and fat body, round figure, undeveloped muscles, short neck, and wide hips. Legs and arms of Endomorphs are usually short and they have large head and broad face. Endomorphs are the people who eat much less than Ectomorphs or Mesomorphs even then, they get fat. Endomorphs have the slowest metabolism.

- And high blood pressure etc.
Male Endomorph: They have fat in their abdomen and this is very dangerous.
Female Endomorph: They collect fat in their hips, legs etc.

- Join a strength training program
- Change your work routine
- Jump Rope
- Push Ups
- Flutter Kicks
- Ankle Wiggles
Endomorphs can be Mesomorphs but you need to be very conscious about your health, your daily routine, your diet and try to do what mesoes do.

Look, whatever your body type is, its god gifted and if you think you need something extra, then you will have to work a little more. And, this little more again depend on your body type.
If you are an Ectomorph, then, this little more will be in direction of gaining weight.
If you are a Mesomorph, then it will be in the direction of maintaining your good health.
If you are an Ectomorph, then you need to work a little bit harder because the danger is here more for you.
